Tretinoin is an anti-aging Vitamin A derivative otherwise known as retin A or retinoic acid. It is a powerful prescription only medicine that is used in the treatment of acne but also is the best product known for anti-ageing. In fact, most anti ageing products on the market contain retinols which are watered down relations of retin A & tretinoin.

Be careful when using tretinoin - it will often irritate your skin, especially if you use too much too quickly. Start with around 1cm in the palm of your hand every other night. Rub it all into the skin (making sure to avoid the eyes) and wash your hands afterwards. Tretinoin can make your skin more sensitive to the sun and so it is important to use good quality sun protection all day, every day.
After a few days, start to use your tretinoin every day bearing in mind that you can experience redness, dryness, irritation and even peeling. If you are able, put up with these reactions as you will get better and quicker results. However, tretinoin is prescription only and should be used under supervision of a doctor. Make sure you seek advice from them if you have any questions.
